Celebrated every year on November 29th , the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is an opportunity for the international community to shed light on the Palestinian cause, and on the fact that the Palestinian people are deprived of their inalienable rights as spelled out by the United Nations. This includes the right for self-determination with no outside interference, the right to national independence and sovereignty and the right of Palestinians to return to their homes and properties from which they were expelled.
The large number of its ASBU member corporations’ mobilization to commemorate this Day is a clear indication of the key importance of the Palestinian cause to ASBU. The following facts further emphasize ASBU’s position:
- ASBU ensures coordination of this special day activities in cooperation with the Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation and the other corporations taking part inthis Day's activities. It also broadcasts related media material on behalf of all member corporations and international partner corporations.
- ASBU coordinates all Arab corporations’ commemoration of this Day and their part or full broadcast of the Day's events.
- ASBU makes available its technical and engineering capabilities to the Palestinian Broadcasting Authority to promote this Day and to broadcast programs, reports and media coverage on this occasion.
