The Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) Director General, Engineer Abdelrahim Suleiman, met the United Nations’ (UN) Television Broadcast and Facilities Unit Chief, Ms. Ingrid Kasper, during ASBU’ s coverage of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly (GA) in New York, to discuss ways to develop the coverage of the GA ‘s events, as well as UN overall activities through ASBU Cloud.
The meeting ‘s main focus was the potential for a direct connection from the UN headquarters to the ASBU Cloud Platform in order to facilitate the transfer and documentation of General Assembly events and other activities held at the UN headquarters. This collaboration seeks to provide distinctive and thorough coverage of UN various events and activities for the benefit of ASBU Member Corporations.
This step reflects ASBU’s commitment to provide innovative technological solutions and enhance international cooperation in the field of documentation, events and information transmission. In addition, it also contributes to strengthening the connection between Arab countries and the United Nations.
Ms. Kasper expressed her enthusiasm for this project and showed commitment to present it to the UN relevant departments. She also promised to work to provide all possible assistance and support to achieve this strategic goal.
It is worth noting that an agreement in principle was made to hold periodic press meetings with the Secretary-General of the United Nations for the benefit of ASBU Member Corporations.
