ASBU is going through a hectic period of preparations that started a few weeks ago with the annual meetings of its permanent committees and that will culminate with the holding of ASBU two key legislative bodies, namely the Executive Council (Dec. 8-9) and the General Assembly (Dec. 10-12).
Expected events are not limited to the two legislative bodies, but will also include:
- 77th meeting of the Standing Committee on Administrative, financial and Legal Affairs (Dec. 5-7),
- 102nd meeting of the Executive Council (Dec.8-9),
- 39th meeting of the General Assembly (Dec.10-12),
-Closing ceremony of ASBU’s 50th anniversary celebration (Dec. 10)
- Professional debate (Dec. 11),
- AIBD/ABU/ASBU Cooperation Meeting (Dec. 12),
- CoPeAm/EBU/ASBU Cooperation Meeting (Dec. 12).
The General Assembly’s agenda is to cover several topics, including the following:
• Report by the Director General on ASBU’s activities during 2019,
• Reports by the Executive Council and the various ASBU standing committees,
• Membership matters,
• Memo on the Arab Media Congress.
• Professional debate on: «organizing PSB and its role in serving public interrest».
The Executive Council is expected to review and discuss the following:
• Report by the Director General on ASBU’s activities, in the fields of radio, TV, programming, news, sports, technical, studies and international cooperation,
• Reports by the Arab Center for news and program exchanges and the Arab center for radio and TV training,
• Report by ASBU 's academy for media training.

• Report by the steering committee of the ASBU hotel building
• Report on ASBU’s 50th Anniversary
• Memo on the Arab Media Congress
