ASBU condemns the Brutal Israeli Aggression on Gaza and denounces Occupation’s Targeting of Journalists

As a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip following the "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation carried out by the Palestinian resistance, the Arab States Broadcasting Union strongly condemns this brutal aggression against the Palestinian people, resulting in thousands of martyrs and wounded victims many of whom are children, women, elderly and defenseless civilians. ASBU denounces as well the massive destruction it caused due to enemy air strikes targeting buildings and residential complexes. ASBU also considers the unjust decision to cut electricity supply, water and food to Gaza as “a war crime by all standards” as it aims to starve the defenseless people, degrade their morale and undermine their steadfastness.

ASBU also strongly condemns the Israeli army’s targeting of journalists working in Gaza, where seven journalists have been martyred since the beginning of the aggression and more than ten others have been injured, in addition to the complete and partial damage to the headquarters of dozens of media institutions. This, once again, reveals the enemy’s malicious desire to obscure the truth and prevent journalists from transmitting images of the bloody crimes it is committing, as was done with the martyr Palestinian “truth-teller” Sherine Abu Aqla, assassinated on May 11th, 2022.

Finally, ASBU confirms that the horrific crimes committed by the Israeli enemy against the Palestinian people will not weaken their resolve, as they will continue their legitimate struggle to recover their stolen rights and their seized land and achieve their dream: genuine freedom and total independence in the independent State of Palestine, with Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
